He has two other brothers who also play representative football: Marty, who played for Auckland and Southland; and Robin, who played locks for Auckland and New Zealand. Brooke played 58 games for New Zealand and 42 non-international games for the All Blacks, captain Auckland Blues won the Super 12 championship in 1996 and 1997 and was an influential figure in Auckland's dominance at the championships.
