He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he played baseball and basketball. He was signed by the New York Yankees in 1957 and made his major league debut in 1959. He played shortstop for the Yankees from 1959 to 1965, and was a member of the 1961 and 1962 World Series championship teams. Kubek was a four-time All-Star and won the Gold Glove Award in 1960. He retired from playing in 1965 and became a broadcaster for NBC Sports, where he worked from 1965 to 1983. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. Kubek is 85 years old and has a net worth of $2 million. He has earned his wealth through his career as a professional baseball player and broadcaster.
