Oscar Robertson is an American former professional basketball player who played for the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is widely considered one of the greatest players in NBA history. He was a 12-time All-Star, 11-time member of the All-NBA Team, and one-time winner of the MVP award in 1964. He also holds the all-time record for triple-doubles in a season with 41. Robertson was born in Charlotte, Tennessee, and attended Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was an All-State guard in basketball and baseball. He was also a two-time All-American at the University of Cincinnati. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in the 1960 NBA draft and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1961. In his 12-year NBA career, Robertson averaged 25.7 points, 9.5 assists, and 7.5 rebounds per game. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980.
