He is the founder and CEO of XS Tennis and Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides tennis instruction and educational support to underserved youth in the Chicago area. Murray began playing tennis at the age of nine and went on to become a top-ranked junior player in the United States. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a four-year letterman and two-time All-Big Ten selection. Murray has coached some of the top players in the world, including Sloane Stephens, Madison Keys, and Coco Vandeweghe. He has also served as a coach for the United States Tennis Association and the USTA Player Development Program. Murray is married to former professional tennis player and current ESPN analyst, Mary Joe Fernandez. They have two children.
