Jessi Colter is an American country music artist who rose to fame in the mid-1970s as one half of the husband-and-wife duo of Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. She is best known for her 1975 country-pop crossover hit "I'm Not Lisa". Colter was born Mirriam Joan Johnson in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 25, 1943. She began her career as a singer in the 1960s, performing in clubs in Phoenix and Los Angeles. In the early 1970s, she met Waylon Jennings, and the two married in 1969. Colter released her debut album, A Country Star Is Born, in 1975. The album featured her biggest hit, "I'm Not Lisa", which reached number one on the country charts and number four on the pop charts. The album also featured the Top 10 country hit "What's Happened to Blue Eyes". Colter released several more albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including her most successful album, Diamond in the Rough (1976). She also had several minor hits, including "You Mean to Say" and "It's Morning (And I Still Love You)". Colter has continued to perform and record sporadically throughout the years, releasing her most recent album, Out of the Ashes, in 2006. She has also appeared in several films, including The Electric Horseman (1979) and Uphill All the Way (1986). As of 2021, Jessi Colter's net worth is estimated to be roughly $10 million.
