When I was in high school, I was 5-foot-4. My mother promised me I would grow. By the time I was in my second year at California State University in Fullerton, I was 6-foot-1.

The fact that I was 5ft 2 as a sophomore didn't help. I'm 6ft 1 now but still relate to those feelings. I didn't date in high school and didn't get my growth until college. I never got over being short.
The reality is that I'm over 6 feet, Caucasian and I have blue eyes. I know that somewhere along the line I'll probably be cast as a romantic lead. But I prefer to take the most interesting role possible, even if it's a smaller one.
