George Peppard is an American actor. He is best remembered for his portrayal of troubled writer Paul Varjak in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's, and his role as Commando Commander Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith in the 1980 TV series The A-Team. Peppard had a leading role when he starred alongside Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, and later portrayed a Howard Hughes-based character in The Carpetbaggers. On television, he played the role of millionaire insurance investigator and henchman Thomas Banacek in the mystery series Banacek in the early 1970s. He played Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith, the chief smoker of cigars from a Betrayal squad on the famous 1980s action show. Team A.
