Carroll Hall Shelby is an American automotive designer, pilot and businessman. Shelby is best known for his involvement with AC Cobra and Mustang for the Ford Motor Company, which he modified in the late 1960s and early 2000s. He founded Shelby American in 1962 to manufacture and market performance vehicles. His autobiography, The Carroll Shelby Story, was published in 1967. As a driver, his highlight is as a co-driver winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans. 1959 .
