George Corley Wallace Jr. is a politician, was the 45th Governor of Alabama for four terms. As a member of the Democratic Party, he is best remembered for his populist and populist views. During his tenure he promoted "industrial development, low taxes and business schools". Wallace filed for president of the United States as a Democrat three times, and once as a US Independence Party candidate, but each was in vain. Wallace opposed discrimination and supported "Jim Crow" policies in the Civil Rights Movement, in his 1963 inaugural speech that he was "discriminating now, discriminating tomorrow, distinguish forever ". Born in Clio, Alabama, Wallace attended law school at the University of Alabama and served with the United States Air Force during World War II. After the war, he won election to the Alabama House of Representatives and served as a judge of the state.
He is a stand-up comedian and writer who was a regular at the world-famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles, California. At the American Comedy Awards in 1995, he was crowned Best Standup Comedian.
